Welcome to the home of Megalito Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I bought my first Stafford in 1989 and called him Budd. His KC name was Pride of Frome. A stunning red dog. He was my pride and joy. Budd was a superb dog. Able to run for miles on the hottest and sunniest days without missing a beat, and able to keep me warm when it was cold and I couldn't be bothered to turn the heating on. We stumbled upon Gwent Staffordshire Bull Terrier Ringcraft by accident and quickly got talked in to showing me little dog at some of the local open shows. We had quite a successful career. Budd had many Best of Breeds at open shows, but we just couldn't cut a break at the Champ shows. I also had a bitch called Zuki - KC name Welsh Siren. She was also quite successful in the show ring. Although not quite to the extent that Budd had. Budds crowning glory was Best Dog/Reserve Best dog in Show at the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of South Wales Open Show held at Royven Kennels in 1990 at the age of 17 months.
In 2001 I bought another dog, Dillon, who I didn't really have any intention of showing. He was the last to go from his litter but I liked him, so home he come with us. But as I had him I thought "why not give him a go" and looked up the Ringcraft clubs again. We started taking him to all the Ringcraft clubs that we could, and then started entering him in some local open shows as the time grew nearer for him to step in to the limelight. His first show was the Western Staff Clubs open show held down in Devon. Dillon won his very first class and had a second in his second class to a much older dog. Not a massive entry on the day but nevertheless he had beaten other dogs. TWICE. The start of a successful show career. To date Dillon has just about swept the board with awards including many Best of Breeds, Best Puppy, Reserve Best Pup in Show, Best Dog, a Junior Warrant, a Stud Book number and one Reserve Challenge Certificate. Not bad for a little mutt no-one wanted. Sadly no longer with us.
Next came Macey. She's also had quite a successful show career so far -- at coming last!!!! Although she has had a third place at Crufts...!
Next comes Kira. Just over 2 years old now and hasnt won much but has been slow developing so maybe she`ll do well next year. Shes also going to Crufts next year.
We now have a new addition called Smiffy. A little red dog. Who knows where hes going.....Only time will tell.
